The first unforgettable days of your engagement have swept you along on a tide of happy expectation, but now it’s time to plan the most important day of your life—your wedding day.

You and your fiancé have begun to consider all the special people in your lives with whom you would like to share this wonderful occasion.

You’ve made the arrangements for the perfect wedding ceremony, and have reserved a beautiful setting for the reception to follow.

Now you need a way to inform your guests of the details of the coming celebration.

And, you want to do it in a way that is uniquely your own.

A Wedding Invitation Suite from Paperwhites will provide everything you need for any eventuality in your wedding plans—from Invitation to Response Card. Your signature Suite will combine impeccable design with distinctive papers to create an invitation that will graciously enlighten your guests about the wonderful plans you have in store for them on your wedding day.

The Wedding Invitation Suite is the third part of your beautiful Signature Wedding Collection, and includes the invitation along with all of the accessory materials that will be mailed with the invitation.

The taste and elegance of your Wedding Invitation Suite will coordinate with your other printed wedding materials, and will signify to your future guests the tone and style they can expect at the wedding itself.

You can share the excitement and joy with your loved ones with a Wedding Invitation Suite designed just for you by Paperwhites.

Invitation

The Invitation is undoubtedly the most important item in your Wedding Invitation Suite.

Not only does it contain the precise details regarding your wedding, but it will also be an unmistakable expression of the style of wedding you are planning.

It may be strictly formal in the best wedding tradition.

Or, it may be charmingly whimsical to suit your unique personality and flair.

You may also have concerns about wording, etiquette and other issues when considering the format of your wedding Invitation.

From fonts, to flourishes and other decorative touches, to the color, texture and edging of the paper, to the choices of wording and decorum, you will find limitless possibilities to make your Invitation an incomparable printed messenger for the wedding day to come.

Whatever your preference and concerns, an expert Paperwhites designer will help you to create an exceptional design, printed on exquisite paper, that will express to your guests all the beauty and joy of this wonderful time in your life.

Interesting Fact: The most formal wedding invitations have the name of the invited guest elegantly hand-written on the otherwise pre-printed invitation.

Reception Card

The Reception Card is the item in your Wedding Invitation Suite that contains information about the time and place of your wedding reception.

There are several reasons why you may wish to include a Reception Card with your invitation:

Your wedding ceremony guest list is more extensive than your reception guest list.

Your ceremony and reception are being held at different locations.

Your reception is to be held at a later date.

Whatever the reason, a Reception Card can provide you with the flexibility you need to plan the perfect wedding.

With the help of an expert Paperwhites designer, you can create a Reception Card with the same signature style as the rest of your Wedding Invitation Suite.

Note: Conversely, there is also an item called a Ceremony Card, which is needed if you are having a small, intimate ceremony with only a few special guests. The Invitation would then be for the reception only, with a Ceremony Card included only to those few who are invited to the more private wedding ceremony. Yet another choice would be a Dinner Card, which would be used if you are inviting certain guests to the dinner and the rest of your guest list to the ceremony and reception only. In this case the ceremony details as well as the reception details would appear on the Invitation, with a Dinner Card inserted only for those guests invited to the meal.

Response Card

You’ve made all of those fabulous plans for your wedding, but in order for things to run smoothly, you need to know which of your invited guests will actually be joining you for the big day.

The Response Card gives your invited guests the opportunity to let you know whether or not they will be attending your wedding.

It may be in the form of a postcard, which saves on postage and requires one less envelope.

Or, you may choose to be more traditional, and include a matching, self-addressed, stamped envelope.

With the help of an expert Paperwhites designer, you can create a Response Card with the same signature style as the rest of your Wedding Invitation Suite.

Wedding Tip: Some wedding experts say that it is better not to put “Number attending” on the Response Card, because this may confuse people by suggesting that more guests are welcome than those listed on the inside envelope of your invitation. On the other hand, if you feel like, “the more the merrier,” you can include a space for the number attending on your Response Card. You may also include a line on your Response Card for the names of those attending, which will be useful when preparing the place cards. Either way, it is a good idea to establish a system for recording the responses as they come in. This will be of great benefit when you are finalizing numbers for the caterer and planning the seating chart.

Envelopes

Think of all the times you have picked up your mail and noticed a distinctive Envelope peeking out amongst the correspondence and circulars.

The Envelope you choose to enclose your wedding invitation and accompanying materials is the first indication to your guests of the style and grace that will be the hallmark of your wedding.

You may decide to employ the more traditional style, which includes an inner Envelope and an outer Envelope.

Or, you may adopt a simpler approach by using an outer Envelope only.

Whatever your preference, the quality and appearance of the Envelope is as important as the design of your other wedding materials.

An expert Paperwhites designer will assist you in selecting the Envelope that will enhance your Invitation and embody the style of your entire Signature Wedding Collection.

You can be sure that when your guests discover that noteworthy Envelope in their mailbox, they will know that something very special has arrived.

Interesting Fact: The use of two envelopes dates back to the nineteenth century when it had a practical application, since letters would usually get quite soiled in transit. The outer envelope could then be removed, perhaps by a servant, to reveal the pristine inner envelope that could then be presented to the addressee. Today the inner envelope still has a useful function as a way to communicate the specific persons invited to your wedding, not to mention adding a bit of panache to the invitation ensemble.

Other Possibilities

Your Wedding Invitation Suite is designed to cover all the possibilities in your wedding plans. In addition to the items listed above, you may include any or all of the following, depending on your particular needs.

An expert Paperwhites designer will assist you in selecting and designing these accessory pieces to coordinate with your entire Signature Wedding Collection.

Pew Card

The Pew Card is for those very special guests for whom you have reserved a place in the front pews of the church. The Pew Card should be brought to the wedding and given to the usher, so that he will know to seat these guests in the reserved pews.

Note – Another option is to provide a Behind-the-Ribbon card to special guests, and then use a ribbon to reserve certain pews at the front of the church. The usher will then know to seat these particular guests in the pews “behind the ribbon.”

Accommodation Card

The Accommodation Card provides information about local accommodations available to your guests, including hotels where you may have reserved a block of rooms especially for their convenience.

Travel Information Card

The Travel Information Card provides directions and other information, including maps, to make it easier for your guests to navigate to your wedding and reception.

Schedule of Events

The Schedule of Events provides a listing of times and places for the activities surrounding your wedding. This is particularly useful if you are planning a Destination Wedding.

Rain Location Card

The Rain Location Card applies only if you are planning an outdoor wedding, and need to provide your guests with an alternate location for your wedding should the worst happen and the weather is inclement.

Admission Card

The Admission Card applies if you are celebrating your wedding in a popular or historic cathedral or church, or any location where special admission for the wedding would be required. Your guests should bring their Admission Card with them to present to the doorman or other official at the door.

Special Items Just For You

There may be an accessory item that you would like to include in your Wedding Invitation Suite that is not listed here.

Your expert Paperwhites designer will assist you with any special items that you need to implement your wedding plans.

Wedding Invitation Tip: Although it is being done more and more, try to resist including gift registry cards with your invitation. You want your invitation to be about the ceremony and the marriage, and not about gifts.

It is better to let people know about the gift registry through word of mouth, e-mails and even on your wedding website, if you have one. You should also resist putting such phrases as “No gifts” or “No children” on your wedding invitation.
